Something is better than nothing. Well, does everyone have access to every 'something'? What if you don't have something, yet, you find so much from nothing and make it your everything? What if you are deprived of something but derive the same from nothing? 'Nothing' can be a degree lower to something. That's obvious. But, who said 'nothing' has nothing in it? Or, do we term something as nothing by mistake? What if it that 'nothing' has something still left in it which you are unable to see?
They say, 'Don't build castles in the air'. Actually, when saying that, does anyone give equal heed to the saying, 'you become what you think' or 'you are what you think'? If the former doesn't happen, the latter wouldn't hold true. If a person is allowed to dream and dream of what he desires, he may very well attain it one day. But, only if it is well-fed with supporting dreams, constant focus, the necessary sacrifice(s) and with no compromise. These dreams would contain a tag of 'terms and conditions apply' to ward off illiterate and impractical people off from arguing with me with regard to the afore mentioned 'dreams'. It also contains a clause to express my willingness to make them learned if they are willing to cooperate.
To differentiate whether your dream is an attraction or ambition is the most gruelling task. Let me give the difference between 'Attraction' and 'Ambition'. To my understanding, 'Attraction' fades off when days pass by, but, 'Ambition' is that which exists and propels you everyday until you reach your ambition. It remains and does not fade off like an attraction. If it remained forever, you probably never reached your ambition but only stayed in the hunt. If it fades/faded, it was a mere attraction. I would also request everyone not to mistake a 'goal' with an 'ambition'. In short, Attraction is that which exits, Ambition is that which exists(until reached).
So, 'building castles'- what does it take? How does it happen? In what way is it useful? Let me explain. When a person has something tangible to motivate himself/herself, they do not build such castles. They build upon the tangible factor that they possess. Whereas, when people need something very badly but are left with nothing but hope, desire, belief, etc., and are not willing to give up, they build upon this 'nothing'. This 'nothing' has nothing to comprehend when seen from others' perspective. But, this 'nothing' has something that will eventually take the person to the everything they desire. How sooner? Well, that depends on the person's ability to dream and add supporting dreams. *winks*
Next time when you dismiss something as nothing, you can be sure that there is already someone somewhere who is building castles or spinning a storm out of that 'nothing' and best utilise the opportunity that you mistakenly or by oversight dismissed as 'nothing'. For those who feel disappointed or lethargic in life that they have been deprived of what they desire, it is time to change your perception and begin to build upon the emptiness and emerge successful with what your creativity can build upon. I will make a mention of yet another saying, 'Every dog has its day'. Of course you know why it finds a place here after reading so much. *grins* If every dog has its day, why not "Every 'nothing' has something"? - rPhoenix
