The countdown has been set. I have 24 hours to prepare for this. As you know my birthday is coming up this weekend. *If you know what I mean* *Grins* The countryside is calling us. A ride through the most dangerous roads await us. With the tarmac only spanning the width of one vehicle, we are venturing through those roads on my "birthday", Bubbles \(^_^)/. The engine has been overhauled in the "lorry". It is the first major road trip in almost half a year. What awaits us is to be witnessed first-hand this weekend.
This being the most dangerous of the roads that I have personally experienced, with skulls smashed, cars flipped around, trucks toppled, mad rush of traffic, yet that urge to ride through those roads with some wild hope running inside of me, I have always been fascinated by this stretch that takes Life to the limits and keeps us on the edge. For what thrill?, you may ask or even frown upon. It is for the adrenaline rush. The key source that keeps us in the hunt no matter what.
When you come so close to hell and you still fight the urge to give up and return, and proceed all the way through it, you will find the worth that I am talking about. So, it is a 700 Kms long Biking trip coming up this weekend. After a period of lull, the "lorry" will be my home away from home for a day. It has been planned in such a way that we cover all parts of the day, all types of highways and much more.
We will be starting so early in the morning by 3 a.m and reach our first stop by dawn's break. The most challenging part of the entire journey is that. We have planned it to be the primary task to be done for the day. With the most challenging part being riding through the narrow roads in our bikes, fighting the blinding fog, equally blinding headlamp glares from the oncoming traffic, this will see us being pushed to our limits. *Playing Pendulum- Tempest*
As it dawns, we will reach our first stop and proceeding from there it will be a relaxing ride through the twisty and curvy village roads with paddy fields on either side and the early morning fog vanishing and giving a clear line of sight to make things easier for us to ride. As the day goes on, we would have to cover four destinations before Noon and that is a strict target. Any deviation from the original plan and we would end up wasting the day.
If everything goes as planned, we will have to take our lunch and take on the second most challenging part of our journey. A 50 Kms stretch of treacherous highway that can even throw a cow out of clear skies in your path. Upon clearing this, we will have to relax and find our way back home. This return journey will take us into the nights. As the world around us darkens, the body will be tired as a log and we will have to find energy from everything around us or be lost with the wind. *Playing Need for Speed Most Wanted- You'll be under my wheels*
The last leg of every ride, the most crucial part of every journey, the most demanding of all rides is to finish what we have taken up. In this, we will see mirages in the dark skies, strange visuals, shadows, and what not. The mind will play games to stop and just sleep on the roads and proceed after a break. But, doing so will not serve the purpose of the entire day's efforts. We will push. We will push ourselves to accomplish the target. We will look forward for the stars to guide us home, we will look towards angels like you to keep us safe. We will look forward to rise up and never give up. We will keep our eyes open, we will stay focused and not give in. We will hope to return back. *Playing Need for Speed Most Wanted- We Control*
By doing so, we will unlock the secrets to pushing ourselves to the limits not only on the highways, but in Life. You ask me how I remain unscathed even in the most demanding situations. This is the secret. It helps. It helps in such a way that I can choose to push myself to the last breath and if I get to take another breath, I have survived. Otherwise, I do not know because I have always been given another chance to breathe thus far. And, we will look forward to get a similar chance. If not, here are my words for you, for Life.
