Two weekends. Two massive trips to be made. Each of these trips will be captained by none other than, me! me!! me!!! *Grins* Well, the first is a 800-1000Kms trip spread across the weekend. The second trip would be a one day trip covering 800-1000Kms to our favourite temple. Bubbles \(^_^)/, my guardian angel! Stay by my side to let me make these trips safe and sane. This time, no night riding involved. Keeping everything only during the day. The first trip is on four wheels. The second would be with the lorry. Let's see how it goes.
Busy as a bee, you seem to be, eh?! I guess your full day classes have started maybe. Or, maybe you are keeping yourself occupied a lot heavily to stay off from the summer heat. Either way, the anxiety you seemed to be having a month ago seems to have faded off a lot, I should say. As for me, it just became a little hectic and is supposed to be so for quite sometime. Bubbles, Bubbles! This time, during the second trip, I may write a post on the move. As in, the time we take breaks will be used to scribble quick notes about the ride, places, experiences and so on and by the end of the trip, there should be sizeable information available about the entire experience. A first attempt, let me see how it goes.
For tonight, as usual there will be the excitement gripping and it would be much more difficult to sleep as it happens on the nights before my trips. This place we are visiting used to be my childhood vacation spot. We used to go there to see Dad after months of not seeing him because of his nature of work. It was a pleasant destination once upon a time. Now, I should make a visit to see the sea of changes that have happened in the past two decades. I hope they still have that eatery serving hot breakfast right at the stroke of 9 A.M for which we used to get ready so eagerly and enjoy the food.
I hope the city has something to offer in the good sense and not kick in any sense of nostalgia. The last time we visited the place, I wore the attire so matching a 90's kid. This time, I am going in as simple as ever. Hmmmmmmm... So much has changed in the two decades. In Life and in me. I have come across things and events I had not even imagined in any movie scenes. Such a sea of change. During the previous visit, we were just a bunch of kids enjoying our summer vacation filled with nothing but ignorance and innocence. I wish I could have stayed in that phase of Life a little longer at least.
It was early middle school days. We used to go by train. The journey over night would be filled with board games, fruits, stories, peeping through the windows out into the dark as the train would speed past. The smell of the diesel fumes emanating from the locomotive would be our most sought after moment as and when the train would accelerate from a stop. We used to look out of the window at a curving line of railway track to see our own train's bogies all the way from the locomotive to the guard's compartment. Such fond memories from almost two decades back. Back then, the frequency of train travel was so high but in the past two decades, I would have boarded a train only a couple of times. *Shocked*
It is almost a decade since I began captaining the trips. With more than a hundred thousand kilometres under my belt, it gives me confidence but at the same time it gives me fears after seeing many mishaps while driving/riding through these highways. All in all, it all boils down to fate and destiny and sometimes even luck. Consciously, all that we can do is to follow the safe and sane driving/riding procedure. The rest is, the intangible factors like fate, destiny, luck and so on.
Anyway, I guess you would be so tired after a full day's class today. Or, maybe you were so busy with whatever that kept you occupied that you would want this post to end so that you can stop staring the screen and get some good night's sleep. Lucky you! Can sleep at least. You do that while I go to the vehicle and get it ready for the weekend. Surprisingly, most of the trips that come to me nowadays are at least a thousand kilometres. In the past few months, I am doing the third trip alike. First was 1300Kms, next was 800Kms and upcoming ones are again 1000Kms and 800-1000Kms. Fast Life, I guess. *Thinking hat on* Until the next post, this is the rider signing off. Bubbles \(^_^)/ -rPhoenix
